Sleeps 2

The Smithy lies just across the yard from the main house and was the original Blacksmiths forge. It still retains many of the original features and blacksmiths artefacts and has made a wonderful conversion with views across the village green to Fontmell Down.

It also has its own private sitting area under a Pergola entwined with grapes and honeysuckle. Accommodation consists of a sitting room/dining room with wood burning stove, steps down to a kitchen and bathroom. Steps up from the sitting room lead to the galleried double bedroom. A perfect honeymoon retreat!

We stayed in The Smithy for a short break and absolutely loved it: characterful cosy cottage, quiet area, beautiful countryside and walks direct from the cottage. If you’re interested in cars the owner has a vintage car restoration business on site. Overall, just perfect!

Just Beautiful!  We spent a weekend here in September and we can’t wait to go back! We stayed in the Old Smithy and absolutely fell in love with its charm! Comfortably furnished and everything you could need. Tim and Lucy were such welcoming hosts and have got this absolutely spot on! We have told all our friends about this absolute gem of a place…please don’t change a thing…we’ll definitely be stay again!

A delightful place to stay in beautiful countryside. We stayed in the Smithy which had all essential amenities and comfy bed, whilst still maintaining many original features .
Our hosts Tim and Lucy were great and we wish we had stayed longer.
If you are a classic car enthusiast it’s a bonus.
We will certainly return.

Quaint, cosy @ charismatic. Stayed at the Smithy in October and really enjoyed our 3 day stay there. The converted forge, which still maintains many of its original features for decorative purposes, has been transformed into a comfortable mezzanine accommodation complete with wood burning stove and simply oozes charm and charisma. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming and gave us lots of tips for the area. We will definitely revisit.
